FOOD VACUUM PACKAGING SYSTEM At RV options we recently finished assessing the Freshield Vacuum Packing System prior to adding it to our shop. The Freshield Vacuum Packing System includes a Vacuum Packing Machine for packaging food into special plastic bags and the Genisys Vacuum Canister range. The advantages of the vacuum bags are numerous including allowing more food to be stored in your freezer due to the reduction in the the size of the parcels and allowing food to be stored up to six times longer than in normal freezer bags. Meat can now be stored for up to three years. More food stored means more time sight seeing and less time shopping. Buy your meat in bulk and save! On a recent trip we vacuumed a whole Coss Lettuce into a Genisys Vacuum Canister and placed it in the fridge. We found that it was still fresh and crisp over nine days later. Normally you are struggling to keep a Coss Lettuce crisp in the fridge for more than two or three days.
We found that the Genisys Canister Set allowed much easier access within the fridge because they stack and are clear so that you can see what is in each container. RESERVATION SIGN As you will see, we have a small but brightly coloured colourbond metal sign that can be left at you camp site when you depart for the day to help prevent confrontation with other travellers when you return from your days wandering. The sign was developed after witnessing some heated afternoon discussion between two other parties over a camp site. The aggrieved party had left their chair on the site, but unfortunately it had disappeared whilst they were away. One of our signs could have prevented the trouble. WINDSCREEN INSULATION Another product that we thoroughly recommend is the Solar Screen Cabin set that we tested during the hot weather in January/February 2009. We found that the insulated internal window covers not only kept us much cooler in the van but also gave us great privacy. We are working on some photos etc for this great product, which for around $390 is exceptional value for money and only takes about five minutes to fit and remove. The Solar Screens will also be excellent in winter to keep the cold out and heat in. HOSE AND POWER LEAD REELS Three products that will save set up and pack up time is the Flat Out Reel System. We used to struggle with the old solid tube fresh water hose, corrugated wall grey water hose and loop the electrical lead over itself and take ages to straighten the hose (particularly in winter) and untangle the lead, now it takes less than five minutes to connect and disconnect to the rig using the Flat Out Reel System. Obviously this makes it much quicker for leaving and arriving at your campsite for those sight seeing days. The hoses and lead also take up far less storage room. TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
